Donation Guide

How to prepare your items to ensure they can be given a second life.

1. Clean & Wash

Please wash and dry all items thoroughly before donating. Damp clothes can grow mold in the collection bins, which spreads to other donations.

2. Sort by Material

If possible, separate your items into bags labeled by type:

  • Cotton T-Shirts: Best for making yarn.
  • Denim: Great for rugged items like rugs and bags.
  • Linens/Sheets: Used for large format weaving.

3. Check Condition

We accept items with small holes or stains (since we cut them up!), but please remove:

  • Heavy embellishments (sequins, large beads)
  • Hard plastics or metals (unless you can cut them off)

4. Drop Off

Bring your bagged items to one of our collection points. Scan the QR code at the bin to register your donation and earn points!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I donate undergarments?

No, for hygiene reasons we do not accept underwear or socks.

What about clothes with zippers and buttons?

Yes! We cut around them. If you want to help us out, you can cut them off beforehand, but it's not required.

My shirt has a big rip. Is that okay?

Absolutely. Since we cut the fabric into strips for weaving, holes and tears don't matter.
